Cambridge-based Sitec Infrastructure Services, a major service provider to the renewable energy markets, is looking for farmers, landowners and those with large roofs who want to reap the financial benefits of solar energy.
The company, which has many years experience in the renewables industry, recently diversified its portfolio by forming a partnership with Lumicity, a firm which is seeking to finance £200million of solar PV systems on roofs and land across southern England and Wales; and East Anglia.
Chris Evans, Director at Sitec, is excited by the possibilities. “The solar market is moving forward very quickly. The drive for renewables is now backed up by the introduction of the Feed in Tariffs for the production of renewable energy which make ‘solar farms’ a real opportunity for landowners with the right sites.
“This type of development has not been viable in the UK up until now but with improvements in the solar panel technology coupled with the Feed in Tariff the timing of this opportunity is absolutely crucial, when the tariff rates are at their highest.
